Personality Differences - Does It Really Matter?
Powerful Tools to Help You Build and Develop an Effective Team

Whether your job or business is dealing with clients directly or not, having interactions with different personalities every day is inevitable. Learning about the various types of personalities and their preferences not only helps your business relations, but it can improve your sales process, your hiring initiatives, and overall team development or team contribution.
There are several assessment models on the market including True Colors, DISC, Personality Dimensions, The Big Five etc., but for this blog we are going to discuss the fundamentals of MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator). This particular assessment model has been used by scores of Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies all around the world. So why do companies use this pre-hire or post hiring tool? The short answer is that you want to hire the best person for the job. You also want the employee to be in the best role for them so that they contribute the best of their talents for a mutually beneficial outcome. Win-Win!
Based on the MBTI model, there are four dichotomies or opposites and we all prefer one more innately than the other. After a series of questions in the assessment, the results display a preference which when combined generates a four letter type (i.e. - ISTJ or ENFP) Here is a synopsis of the four facets of our personalities that affect a lot of what we do everyday in our relationships, both on the job and off.
MBTI Dichotomies
Extrovert
Typically get energy from people, social, engaging
Introvert
Get their energy from inside, reflective, more quiet
Sensing
